Waste in action

Train tomorrows partners

Within the scope of "Waste in action", the partners offer a Franco-British training programme.  The following organizations are part of this programme: SMÉDAR, the University of Brighton, CNFPT (Haute-Normandie-Upper Normandy branch) and IESE.

The training programme offered by SMÉDAR, CNFPT, the University of Brighton and IESE is one of the main projects of the partnership.

Approximately fifty French and English civil servants working in the field of waste management or the environment benefit from a programme of lectures by specialists and visits tailored to their requirements. Hence, they can widen their knowledge and share their experience.

The modules, half of which are in Rouen and half in Brighton, also enable the specific characteristics of the two countries to be apprehended, as well as envisaging new avenues for study and collaboration.

Two Sessions Scheduled

Two sessions have been scheduled. The first session took place in 2009 and the second will be held in 2010. The training course is primarily intended for collection, and processing managers, and those in charge of studies and projects, as well as administrative officers, and managerial staff in a processing and/or waste collection department in both countries.

The trainees have their first week in Rouen then a second in Brighton. Simultaneous translation is available for them.

At the end of the two weeks, the participants are allocated a vocational project in pairs.

The project is then presented to a jury made up of professionals. At the end of the training course a certificate is officially presented to each trainee.
